His ashes to be taken back to Scotland by his widow at his final request.

Can we charge him back taxes for this?

When you say chancer ... Mr Wiki says Lazenby was a successful model, car salesman & had been in the Fry’s chocolate ad.
Met Cubby Brocolli the Bond producer when they were getting their hair cut at the same place & was invited for a screen test then an audition.
Don’t think he had ever acted in his life

''Not the best actor in the world but had genuine screen presence and was a great movie star''

You're right there. Outside of Bond films he really didn't do many good films. Entrapment and The Rock were decent. Finding Forrester, too.

Re: Sean Connery - RIP
Lazenby wasn't an actor. He was just a chancer who pulled off one of the all-time great blags: talking his way into staring in a James Bond movie.

Anyone seen Just Cause?

Mid 90s legal thriller set in the Florida Everglades?

He was good in that, Rising Sun was another good one based on the Michael Crichton novel.

Not the best actor in the world but had genuine screen presence and was a great movie star.

Supposedly he was offered a contract for another 7 films but turned it down.
Was his choice to only do 1 film

Played 9 holes with him, at Los Naranjos golf club, in Pueto Banus, back in the early 90s.
Seemed a nice bloke and bought the beers, at the 19th.

Becoming Bond - a doc all about Lazenby - is one of the funniest/bizarre things I've ever watched. He's one seriously funny fucker, although I've no idea how much of what he spouts about his life was utter bollocks.

Re: Sean Connery - RIP
Apparently he was fed up doing Bond and felt typecast so turned them down and George Lazenby did it which ended his career. Then Connery lost a shed load on a land purchase deal in Marbella Spain where he lived and needed the money, so reluctantly came back to do Bond again, it was "Never say never again".

He wasn’t a classical actor but he was charismatic and very watchable which makes him a great film star

I loved the way he could do a range of accents....errr no.

Was not a great actor by a long stretch. Made Michael Cain look like Olivier.

Re: Sean Connery - RIP
I have read some sh1te on here over the years but claming Sean Connery was not a great actor is taking the effing biscuit. I don't care what his political views were or that he wanted independence for Scotland. Up to him, he is entitled to his opinion as are all of you on his acting ability. To me, he was one of the greats. He was the first actor I ended up realising that if he was in a film I was bound to like it. There aren't many I can say that about but I can about him. RIP Sean and hope you are playing golf in heaven.
